Directories provide the year, county, municipality, school section number, name of school, number of classrooms, name of teacher, class of licence, years of service, subjects taught, grade taught, name and address of secretary to trustees, salary, total student enrolment, and post office serving the section. Directories are arranged by county, district, and school section number. Original directories for the years 1952-1954 are available, but directories for 1960-1972 are available only on microfilm. Directories for the years 1955-1959 are missing.

Nova Scotia Links was a component of the "Success Nova Scotia 2000" program, a strategic initiative jointly funded by the provincial and federal governments. Nova Scotia Links was designed to facilitate entry into the labour market for post-secondary students through career-related work placement. This program focused on providing job market access to students not enrolled in a co-operative education program. Nova Scotia Links administered training modules for students emphasizing the development of a learning culture for both students and employers in Nova Scotia.
