    Biographical history

    Rob Richardson, Halifax Explosion survivor, was reportedly attending university in Halifax when the Halifax Explosion occurred on the morning of December 6, 1917. His family lived in Chipman, New Brunswick.

    Custodial history

    Telegram discovered among the possessions of Lauchlan Fulton of Saint John, New Brunswick. Donated to Nova Scotia Archives by Mr. Fulton in 2018.

    Scope and content

    Fonds consists of a single telegram sent by Rob Richardson to a [Mrs?] R.D. Richardson at 5pm Dec 6, 1917 saying “Awful Havoc but all safe. – Rob”. Telegram letterhead says Canadian Pacific Telegraph.
