Biographical history
John D. McIntyre was born 4 June 1900 in Boisdale, Cape Breton County, N.S. He became assistant director of the Nova Scotia Travel Bureau in 1957, retiring in 1970. He was active in salt-water sport fishing and Progressive Conservative Party societies and events. McIntyre was appointed to chair the Minimum Wage Board, from 1979-1980, and the Atlantic Provinces Minimum Wage Board, from 1983-1987. He died in Halifax, 29 July 1989.

Scope and content
Consists of records documenting MacIntyre's career and family life. Includes correspondence, newspaper clippings, brochures, notes, certificates, scrapbooks, and photographs, relating to salt-water sport fishing and MacIntyre family history and events. Also includes MacIntyre's unpublished memoirs, copies of photographs of politicians, minutes and other material pertaining to the Atlantic Provinces Minimum Wage Board and the Bedford-Musquodoboit Valley Progressive Conservative Association.
