Part of Nova Scotia House of Assembly

Forms part of Nova Scotia House of Assembly and consists of written questions submitted to members of the Executive Council. Written questions differ from House orders in that the government is not obliged to respond. Not all years are extant. Records for 1922, 1927-1930, 1933-1946, 1949, 1961, and 1968 consist only of entry books listing the questions. Written questions again became part of the official House record in 1976, since when the clerk has maintained a register of written questions and answers, House orders and resolutions.

Consists of negatives, prints, and slides taken by W.R. MacAskill, primarily when he was a commercial photographer in Halifax. The fonds also contains photographs produced at his studios at St. Peter's and Glace Bay, most of which are portraits; personal photographs of MacAskill, his wife, friends and acquaintances, his yacht Highlander, and his home "Brigadoon" in Ferguson Cove; and a small number of photographs taken by other professional photographers including Norman and Climo. Also includes film footage taken by MacAskill of the 1938 schooner race between Bluenose and Gertrude L. Thebaud, and a Nova Scotia tourism film.
