Consists of transcripts of all hearings conducted by the commission, copies of all written submissions forwarded to the commission, a copy of the report, and copies of the maps created for the report. The written submissions are arranged alphabetically by names of presenters, while the transcripts of hearings are arranged chronologically. As part of its consultative process, the commission held a special session with the Mi'kmaq community to consider the nature of native representation in the House of Assembly. This formed a major portion of the commission's report, as did the recommendation to create a seat in the Preston area that would concentrate voters in such a manner that the election of a Black member would become a possibility.

Consists of receipts, invoices, account statements, and related shipping documents from various vessels that sailed from the Maritimes to various foreign ports. The contents of the collection include documents for the following vessels: Annapolis, J.W. Parker, L. Delap, Ostrich, Pandora, Avon, S.S. Lovat and Waterloo among others. Also includes captains' documentation (certificates, logbooks), a Sable Island logbook, images from the Halifax Port Authority, and some records of Pickford and Black and the White Ensign Association.

Consists of files accumulated by Eric Dennis between 1972 and 1977 as Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Communications and Information Centre and include records related to the Centre’s budget (1972-1977), the province’s hosting of the 1973 Premiers’ Conference, speeches of Premier Gerald Regan, Royal Visits (Primarily 1973), and the Centre’s production of promotional movies as well as materials related to industrial and tourism promotion including events such as the Tournament of Roses Parade (California), the Boston Tea Party (1976 and 1977), Lobster Luncheons (1974), and Expo ’75 in Osaka, Japan.

The records include correspondence, memoranda, reports, briefs, newsletters, brochures, news clippings, invitations, financial forecasts, estimates and budgets, and photographs of Royal visits and are loosely arranged, alphabetically, by file titles.

Consists of moving images relating to five productions of the Collective: "Fish or Cut Bait," "Charlie Murray," "The Finest Kind," "Work and Wages in Halifax," and "The Michelin Bill." Includes final production versions and, in some cases, source material created for the production and rough footage, such as filmed and videotaped interviews (mainly by Bill McKiggan), workprints, negatives, videotransfers, rough edits, and revisions. The production "Work and Wages Halifax, 1978" contains two videocassettes, one each of the short (27m, 30s) and long (46m, 06s) versions of the production. The "Michelin Bill," about the labour demonstrations in Halifax over the bill, includes one film reel negative and one videocassette of the completed production.

Consists of funeral record books, numbers 1-14 inclusive; books 3 and 11 are missing. Entries in the books cover the period 25 May 1939 to 5 May 1969 and include the deceased's full name, age, date of birth, place of birth and death, cause of death, occupation, residence and place of burial as well as accounts associated with the costs of the funeral. Book 1 also includes the name and place of birth of the mother and father of the deceased and the mother's maiden name. Where funeral arrangements were conducted by the Department of Veteran's Affairs, a service identification number is recorded. A comprehensive index to the records has been compiled by the Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia and is included at the beginning of each microfilm reel.

Jotham Blanchard McCully

Consists of several letters and other items accumulated by Jotham McCully as secretary of the Oak Island Association during its attempts to locate treasure on Oak Island from 1862 to 1863. The letters are all written to McCully from engineers and officials at the money pit site, describing problems encountered during the drilling, and also from several shareholders describing potential financial problems. Also includes documents concerning an Oak Island Association meeting in Truro in 1864, and plans and a report from engineers on how to stop the flooding of water in the money pit in 1867.

Consists of records documenting the company's operations in Stellarton, 1958-1972. Includes general correspondence, subject files, financial statements, and product and promotional files. The correspondence, apparently created and accumulated by the plant's Italian management, is arranged chronologically, with some files concerning specific subjects. The subject or case files are arranged alphabetically, and largely concern other businesses, government agencies, suppliers, and similar entities. There are a few financial statements from 1964 to 1969, but these are incomplete. The company's product and promotional literature, while not extensive, contains some illustrative material and small textile samples, 1961-1968.

Consists of records created and/or accumulated by the Eastern Canada Towing Limited and its predecessors, Foundation Maritime and MIL Tug & Salvage Limited. The bulk of the records concern the company when it was Foundation Maritime, 1930-1968, and MIL Salvage and Towing, 1968-1973. There are four series: yearly financial statements of Foundation Maritime, 1933-1968; legal documents, 1934-1972; general correspondence, 1939-1989; and salvage contracts, 1918-1974, 1979. The legal documents relate to the companies' tug boats, containing bills of sale, agreements, inspection reports and certificates, registrations, radio licenses and similar material. The general correspondence files are arranged alphabetically by subject, and include correspondence of both the company president and the operations manager. The salvage contracts series documents the salvage projects undertaken by the company from 1930-1974 and 1979 (excepting the years 1956-1957, whose files are missing). Arranged in numerical and chronological order, there are several instances of missing numbers due to mis-numbering on the part of company staff. There is a chronological card index file to the salvage projects, 1918-1958, which contains details about ships and vessels that are not in the files themselves. The files include correspondence, radio dispatches and radiograms from ships, salvage reports, contracts and agreements, photographs and snapshots of wrecks (often with their negatives), news clippings, nautical charts and ships' plans, rough notes, daily logs of the tug captain on salvage operations, cost estimates and invoices, and court documents. There are also six film reels created by Foundation Maritime to display its tug services and salvage operations, ca. 1958-1960, apparently for news and promotional purposes.

Jotham W. Logan

Consists of personal papers and memorabilia created or accumulated by Logan and his relatives. Includes a small scrapbook (with clippings on Logan's retirement from his teaching career, his social activities, former colleagues and students, and his obituary), copies of his published articles and speeches, his teacher's statement of service in
Nova Scotia, certificate of life membership in the Dalhousie Alumni Association, a letter appointing him an honorary president of the Dal Alumni Association, and a copy of a tribute from the Dalhousie University Board of Governors in 1958. Also includes a printed tribute to Logan from author Hugh MacLennan and a tribute from his former pupils at Halifax County Academy on the occasion of his retirement in 1933. Includes a few photos and postcards taken in France during the First World War, depicting scenes such as Logan with groups of Canadian officers and with the Canadian and French rugby teams, and a set of letters he wrote while stationed oversees during the Great War. The letters contain detailed descriptions of life in the trenches, being wounded and the physical and emotional toll of warfare.
