Fonds consists of five volumes used by Rudolf as diaries to record daily events, impressions and community and broader political and social issues of the day in both Nova Scotia and Great Britain. The diaries contain inserts taken from various publications of interest to Rudolf. Fonds also includes a photograph of the Town of Pictou from the the vicinity of Pictou Landing taken in the 1880s.

Fonds consists of two daybooks, correspondence notebooks, certificates and an historical account of Rev. William Chalmers Burns. The contents of the fonds document Foote's missionary work in Korea and provide his personal observations about the work that he was undertaking there on behalf of the Presbyterian Church in Canada.

Fonds consists of deeds, indentures, accounts, receipts, and letters primarily documenting the business transactions of William Stairs. Most of the material relates to the sale and purchase of property involving Stairs and the Stayner family. Includes several letters written by T.A. Stayner, as well as letters from William Kidston and Sons of Glasgow, Scotland. Letters also include mention of financial affairs, the Grand Trunk railway, economic depression, Confederation, and the Civil War.

Fonds consists of correspondence and other records documenting Young's law practice, political offices, and his family and personal business affairs. Includes letters to and from Young regarding political matters, such as elections, fisheries, roads, and the Windsor-Annapolis Railway; and legal opinions and cases dealt with including the estate of Hon. Michael Tobin. Letters between Young and his father and brothers George and Charles concern personal news and family business matters. Other records in the fonds include Young's summaries of cases heard before him in the Supreme Court, Court of Vice Admiralty, and the Court of Marriage and Divorce, ledgers, day books, financial statements and accounts, drafts of speeches, newspaper clippings, law books, personal diary, and journal of a trip to England. Fonds also contains correspondence, legal documents, and other items concerning the estate of William Young and others, 1887-1919.

Fonds consists of research notes, incoming and outgoing correspondence, photocopies of registers and lists, card files, and draft manuscripts created and compiled by Bell for his book, "The Foreign Protestants and the Settlement of Nova Scotia". Also includes three notebooks containing Bell's notes on individual settlers of Lunenburg County, called "Register of Lunenburg Settlers". Card files were compiled as an index to the registers and contain additional information on emigrants and their families, their origins, and early years in the community.

Fonds consists of records documenting the operation and management of Wm. Stairs, Son and Morrow, its predecessors and subsidiaries. Contains business correspondence, 1820s-1931; legal documents, 1771-1919; shipping papers, 1840-1899; annual reports,1946-1972; financial statements and statistical reports, 1886-1903, 1943-1972; cash books, 1843-1945; accounts ledgers, 1890-1925; sales journals and reports, 1887-1923; several scrapbooks, some with clippings on company history and others with advertisements, 1915-1928; a company prospectus, 1940s; and management and training manuals. There are also numerous photographs of company offices, events, ships, and people, 1898-1968; and early blueprints and plans for Stairs and Morrow properties in Dartmouth, mills, warehouses, store facades and renovations, 1860s-1930. Subsidiary companies represented include Dartmouth Manufacturing Co., N.S. Tractor and Equipment, A.M. Bell and Co., Maritime Paper Products., and C.P. Moore Ltd., Sydney, Nova Scotia.
The fonds also includes a later accrual, described as a separate series, of Advertising Manager's memos, correspondence, photographs and video of construction of new store.

Fonds consists of records documenting the work and operation of various defunct Women's Institutes: Nappan (1921-1955, 1960-1965); Cow Bay (1956-1992); Bass River (1966-1976); Halifax County District (1948-1992); and Westphal (1932-1992, incomplete). The fonds includes minute books, an account book, membership information and a register.

Fonds consists of negatives, prints, and slides taken by W.R. MacAskill, primarily when he was a commercial photographer in Halifax. Includes images of coastal villages, fishing scenes, seascapes, towns and landscapes, the International Fishing Schooner Races, 1920-1937, the Bluenose under construction, naval vessels, freighters and other ships, and yachting. The geographic area represented in the photographs is almost exclusively Nova Scotia but also includes New Brunswick and Newfoundland. Many of the photographs appear in MacAskill's books Out of Halifax and Lure of the Sea and his studio catalogues, as well as in Andrew Merkel's book Schooner Bluenose. The fonds also contains photographs produced at his studios at St. Peter's and Glace Bay, most of which are portraits; personal photographs of MacAskill, his wife, friends and acquaintances, his yacht Highlander, and his home "Brigadoon" in Ferguson Cove; and a small number of photographs taken by other professional photographers including Norman and Climo. Also includes film footage taken by MacAskill of the 1938 schooner race between Bluenose and Gertrude L. Thebaud, and a Nova Scotia tourism film.

Fonds consists of correspondence and other records created and accumulated by Fielding as minister of finance and MP for Shelburne-Queens. Subjects represented include railways and public works in Nova Scotia, and national and international issues including elections, budget, tariffs, trade, reciprocity, transportation, civil service, Confederation, conscription, and imperial policy. Fonds includes speeches, speech notes, statistics, pamphlets and other published material, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings and ephemera. A small portion of the correspondence concerns Fielding's personal investments and his appointments as editor. Fonds also contains newspaper clippings, genealogical notes, probate records and other material relating to Fielding's family, including his son-in-law K.N. Macfee (first husband of Janet); photographs of Fielding on board a ship during a trip to England ca. 1910; and a portrait of Fielding painted by Margaret Frame in 1928.

Collection consists of records of the Foster Settlement School, the Farmers Agricultural Society, and the Independent Order of Good Templars - Lily in the Forest Lodge all in the same community. Foster Settlement changed its name to Parkdale, Lunenburg County in 1902.
