Also includes some letters and sympathy cards written to Richardson's daughter Elizabeth Smith after Richardson's death.

There is also documentation relating to his tenure with Dance Nova Scotia and his involvement with organizations like the Cort's Club and the Halifax Stroke Club.

Consists of operational records created by the NS Steel and Coal Company Ltd.'s New Glasgow and Sydney Mines offices. The most extensive section concerns the Old Sydney Collieries operations at Sydney Mines, containing letter books and correspondence files of the stores department (1905-1917), which detail the ordering and purchasing of supplies and equipment for the mines. In addition there are financial records such as cash books (1905-1913), general ledgers (1895-1915) and a very early workmen's book (1861-1864). Other records originate from the New Glasgow office and include general correspondence (1935-1941), corporate records such as printed annual reports and financial statements of NS Steel and Coal and its parent companies (BESCO and DOSCO), by-laws and articles of association, prospectuses and charters, and internal publications such as promotional booklets and agreements with labour unions. There are also a few files believed to have been created by former chairman Thomas Cantley, including two case files on the coal tariff issue (1912-1927) and a mine fire inquiry (1929), blueprints of mine sites in Sydney and schematic details of mining equipment used, and coal and steel production and sales figures (1898-1918). Finally there are later correspondence files and reports on mine performance and production at the Florence and Princess Collieries, 1953-1966.

Consists of six photographic albums and Maritime Boys' Camp booklets. Three of the albums depict scenes of Halifax and vicinity and other Nova Scotian communities and locations, including Bear River, Clementsport, Granville Ferry, Smiths Cove, Fall River, Purcell Cove, and Waverley. Subjects include boating, regattas, Halifax Natal Day road races, Provincial Exhibition building and exhibits, sports activities on the Polo Grounds at Halifax, Halifax Citadel garrison, buildings, street scenes, scenic views, picnics and other outdoor activities, shipping, railways, farm scenes, and informal portraits including family, friends and members of the Mi'kmaq and African Nova Scotian communities. A fourth album contains photographs and booklets of the YMCA Maritime Boys' Camps at various locations in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick from 1898 to 1904. Also includes an album of postcards, some of them with published versions of Irvine's photographs, and an album of unidentified portraits.

Fonds consists of records created and accumulated by Eaton in the course of his genealogical and historical research of Colchester, Halifax, Hants, and Kings counties, and New England. Includes notes, copies of articles, pamphlets, leaflets, draft manuscripts, chapter outlines, and bound volumes containing extracts of reports from the Society for the Progagation of the Gospel relating to early Nova Scotia. Fonds also contains personal correspondence; sermons; biographical material; auction catalogues; sheet music; and published and unpublished articles and poems, many of which were compiled in bound volumes together with correspondence, notices, reviews, and ephemera. There are also two volumes of personal letters from fellow poet and clergyman, Rev. Robert Norwood, as well as photograph portraits of Eaton and family members, reproductive prints of colonial administrators, royal dignitaries, coat of arms, and postcards depicting churches, buildings, and scenes of Nova Scotian cities and towns.

Consists of daily journals kept by Harry Piers, 1907-1938, which contain notes, newspaper clippings, poems, sketches, programs and other ephemera documenting his activities and interests. Fonds also includes correspondence, research notes, notebooks, and newspaper clippings and articles, relating to Pier's research on topics such as Robert Field, William Chearnley, rowing, and horse racing. Also contains some personal correspondence and incoming and outgoing letters relating to Public Records of Nova Scotia affairs as well as his presidency of organizations including the Overseas League of Halifax; manuscripts of a few of his published and unpublished works including The Evolution of the Halifax Fortress, and A Historical and Genealogical Account of the Piers family; files relating to the Geographic Board of Canada for which Piers was the Nova Scotia representative; a photograph album of his wife's family, the Fairbanks; and some letters and other items received by his wife and son Edward Piers. Graphic and cartographic material also found among textual records.

Consists of scrapbooks about the Ajax Club, North End Services Canteen, and the Women's Voluntary Services Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, likely compiled by Edith Girouard. The scrapbooks contain photographs and newspaper clippings about the work of these wartime organizations. Fonds also includes an annual report of the Ajax Club, and a booklet entitled The Case of the Ajax Club.

Gavin L. Stairs Jr.

Consists of a bound volume containing carbon copies of typed letters and a diary written by Gavin L. Stairs, Jr. while with the 14th Royal Montreal Regiment, 1st Canadian Division, C.E.F., from 23 July 1914 to 2 September 1916. The letters are addressed to members of his family and describe Stairs's activities both during the period leading up to his departure for England (October 1914) and his experiences at the war front in Northern France. The last of his letters is dated 2 September 1916, a few days before his death. In total there are 108 letters, and at the end of the volume is a copy of Stairs's diary, in which he listed his activities from 1 January to 31 December 1915.
