Carmichael Company, including captains' letters and vouchers regarding the operation of the vessels SS Micmac, James William, Brynhilda, Helga, Arnguda, and SS Pontiac; correspondence with ship brokers including Scammell and Bros., and other firms and individuals in Nova Scotia concerning business and financial transactions; and other business records covering the early years of the company until the 1930s, including letters patent and a certificate of incorporation, letter books, accounts, receipts, cash books, ledgers, ship log books, and minutes of meetings for shipping and other companies in which Carmichael was involved. Also contains Carmichael's political correspondence.
