Consists of records documenting the association's role in planning and coordinating temporary relief for the poor in Halifax. Includes minutes of advisory board meetings and annual meetings, some together with relevant reports and newspaper clippings, 1923-1992. Also includes annual reports, 1867-1966 (incomplete), financial statements and auditors report 1982-1993, by-laws, act of incorporation, and a copy of the history of the association prepared by Judge R.E. Inglis and R.W. Kane in 1989.
