Consists of correspondence accompanying donations sent to the school after the Halifax Harbour Explosion of 1917. Also includes a 1918 inventory of furniture received by the School from the Massachusetts Relief Society.

Forms part of the Halifax School for the Deaf and includes a variety of school registers: a list of students and their attendance, 1856-1878; a record of students' conduct, 1873-1882; a record of income and correspondence, 1871-1889; and a record of applications, 1879-1890. The correspondence appears to be excerpts from letters received, as well as drafts of letters sent.

Series includes one scrapbook containing mementoes, cards, and Mary Anne MacLean's letters on the occasion of her retirement as a teacher in 1954. Series also includes loose newspaper clippings. Some of the photographs are in albums with captions.
