Nova Scotia Provincial Electoral Boundaries Commission fonds
- Accession 1992-109
Fonds consists of transcripts of all hearings conducted by the commission, copies of all written submissions forwarded to the commission, a copy of the report, and copies of the maps created for the report. The written submissions are arranged alphabetically by names of presenters, while the transcripts of hearings are arranged chronologically. As part of its consultative process, the commission held a special session with the Mi'kmaq community to consider the nature of native representation in the House of Assembly. This formed a major portion of the commission's report, as did the recommendation to create a seat in the Preston area that would concentrate voters in such a manner that the election of a Black member would become a possibility.
