    Scope and content

Consists of funeral record books, numbers 1-14 inclusive; books 3 and 11 are missing. Entries in the books cover the period 25 May 1939 to 5 May 1969 and include the deceased's full name, age, date of birth, place of birth and death, cause of death, occupation, residence and place of burial as well as accounts associated with the costs of the funeral. Book 1 also includes the name and place of birth of the mother and father of the deceased and the mother's maiden name. Where funeral arrangements were conducted by the Department of Veteran's Affairs, a service identification number is recorded. A comprehensive index to the records has been compiled by the Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia and is included at the beginning of each microfilm reel.
