Biographical history
David Garfield Jamieson, son of Archie and Edna (Peitzsche) Jamieson, was born on 29 December 1937. He lived in Montana and Nova Scotia before moving to Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1979. He works as a realtor in the city and served on the Board of Directors of the Medalta and Hycroft Pottery for 17 years. He has received various awards for his community involvements. His keen interest in history has led to a series of publications on the history of mining in Nova Scotia entitled The Gold Seekers. He died in Medicine Hat on 19 August 2022

Scope and content
Consists of textual records, cartographic records, photographs and sound recordings either collected or created and accumulated by Jamieson. The contents of the collection document the history of mining on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia in both Halifax and Guysborough Counties through correspondence, images, and first person interviews.

Includes: 195 photographs, 118 copy prints, and 1 negative; 10 plans and drawings, 1 blueprint; 30 audiocassettes; and 1 computer disk. Portions of the correspondence and other textual records in this collection show signs of water damage.
